Daca poze cu macarons nu ati vazut (inca) de la mine, iata ca de cliseul cu ciresul japonez nu ati scapat. Am stat chiar la coada pentru fotografiile astea pentru ca da, cel putin in ziua respectiva, ca sa prinzi loc sub bietul cires din Gradina Botanica trebuia sa stai la rand, sa pui piedica la batranele, sa sperii prescolarii veniti in excursie, sa faci glume proaste cu voce tare pe seama perechilor care se fotografiau cu nesat sub el, sa arzi holdele si sa otravesti fantanile… etc. (P.S. Cu holdele, fantanile, batranelele si prescolarii era o gluma).

Cum pierdusem tura de dimineata, l-am prins si mai ciufulit din cauza smotocelilor pe care le indura probabil de ceva vreme in scopul obtinerii pozelor de tip “stau suav sub o ploaie de petale roz” (si spun asta cu invidie, pentru ca mie nu-mi ies niciodata :)), culoarea rochiei nu se prea potrivea cu florile roz (la naiba!), iar ochelarii de soare – pe care nu-i planificasem, dar au devenit necesari din cauza ca imi lacrima un ochi – ma fac sa seman putin cu Stevie Wonder in pozele la umbra – dar ce conteaza: Lume, lume, am si eu POZE CU CIRESUL JAPONEZ!

EN: While this blog has been a macarons-free environment (at least so far), it looks like I wasn’t man enough to resist the allure of the cherry blossoms cliché, so here they are in full bloom, so to speak.

Getting the photos was no small feat, either: the poor cherry blossom tree in the Botanical Garden in Bucharest (I think there’s only one) was on high demand that day, so in order to get my turn under it I’ve had to stand in a queue, trip a couple of old ladies, scare some kindergarten kids out of their wits and scar them for life, make audible bad jokes about a couple who just wouldn’t stop with their lovey-dovey photo session already and clear the area, burn the crops, poison the water supply… etc. – because, you see, once I had laid my eyes on the cherry blossom, I knew I had to get those photos or die trying. And by God, I did!!! (P.S. The part about tripping the old ladies, scaring the kids, burning the crops and poisoning the water supply was a joke).

Poate vi-i mai amintiti, au mai aparut aici, in marele articol de shopping de Pantofi cu Varf Ascutit.

Surprinzator pentru mine, care ma temeam ca nu voi fi in stare sa merg pe niste pantofi cu toc inalt fara platforma, mi se par foarte comozi – OK, nu comozi de alergat dupa autobuz (si, de altfel, asa cum mi-a spus o profesoara in scoala generala, dupa autobuz si barbati nu-i bine sa alergi niciodata, ca vine repede urmatorul), ci comozi pentru niste pantofi cu toc stiletto de 10 cm. Am mers cu ei destul de mult (si repede) atat in ziua cand am facut pozele, cat si duminica cand am fost la teatru (“Un Tramvai Numit Dorinta” la Odeon – mi-a placut!) si s-au comportat excelent si nici nu m-au ros, in ciuda faptului ca in interior doar brantul (partea pe care sta talpa) este de piele. (Exteriorul este din piele).

Surprisingly enough, as I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to walk in high heels without platform, I found these very comfortable – of course, not run-after-the-bus-comfortable (and, anyway, you know the ol’ saying “Never run after a bus or a man: there will always be another one.”), but comfy enough for a pair of 10 cm/ 4 inch stilettos. I walked a fair bit in them (and pretty fast too!) both on the day these photos were taken and on Sunday, when we went to the theater, and I’m happy to report that they behaved much better than expected, with no slipping off my feet or chafing involved – even though only the insole is leather (along with the outer, of course, as stated in their name).

Marimea as zice ca e cea corecta – eu mi-am luat 39 si, asa cu se vede in a treia poza, imi sunt putin cam mari (port 38,5), dar nu am avut deloc senzatia ca ii scap din picioare, probabil pentru ca, neavand platforma, sunt foarte usori. (Prezenta acelui mic spatiu la calcai poate fi atribuita si faptului ca unghiul in care sta piciorul este destul de abrupt comparativ cu unghiul mai lin pe care il ofera platforma).

EN: I’d say the sizing is pretty accurate – I got them in size 39 (UK 6) and, as you can see in the third pic, they are a little big (I’m a size 38,5), but, despite this fact, they felt pretty secure on my feet – probably because, due to the lack of platform, they’re very light. (That small gap at the heel may be accounted for as well by the fact that the angle of the foot is much steeper in a pair of platform-less heels, than in platform ones).

Culoarea este, asa cum speram, destul de apropiata de cea a pielii, “nude” adicatelea, ceea ce inseamna ca ii pot purta cam cu orice din garderoba. In ceea ce priveste efectul de alungire/ subtiere a picioarelor – nu pot decat sa sper ca este acolo si lucreaza din greu, asa cum sper de fiecare data, de altfel, cand imi cumpar pantofi/ incaltaminte nude (sau orice alta culoare) :). (Parerea mea este totusi ca gambele mele destul de musculoase arata mai bine – adica mai subtiri – pe talpa ortopedica decat pe tocuri inalte si subtiri).

EN: The colour is, as I had hoped, pretty similar to my skin tone – so, in other words “nude” -, which means that I’ll be able to wear them with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. As for the leg-lengthening/ slimming effect – well, I just hope it’s there, just like every time I buy I a pair of nude shoes :). (My opinion however is that my muscular calves look better – slimmer, that is – in wedges, not high and very thin heels).

Faptul ca sunt decoltati (adica se vede baza degetelor) – cum mi-i si doream -, desi nu este foarte atractiv in close-up [stiu ca acum o sa va uitati din nou la poze :)...],  arata mult mai bine in realitate/ de la o distanta normala. (Sotul meu cel putin este clar de aceasta parere :)).

EN: The fact that these shoes have a low vamp (= you can see part of the toes) may be a deal-breaker for some of you, but I love this feature in a shoe and, even though it may not be a very pretty sight in close-up [I know I've just made you look at the photos again :)], they really look better from a normal perspective. (My husband at least definitely thinks so :)).

Asadar daca unele dintre voi aveti, ca si mine, ceva experienta la mersul pe tocuri, dar va temeti ca dupa ani de zile de purtat platforme, niste pantofi lipsiti de acest sprijin ar necesita niscaiva echilibristica, mesajul meu este: nu va pierdeti speranta; exista viata si dupa platforma!

EN: So if there’s somebody out there who, like myself, isn’t a novice at wearing heels, but is a little afraid that after years and years of platforms, shoes lacking this support might require balance beam training, my message to you is this: DON’T abandon all hope, ye who enter: there IS life after the platform!
