Cat-Eyed

Rochie/ Dress: Motel Rocks (Asos); (Gasiti acelasi model de rochie dar cu un imprimeu retro trandafiri aici/// EN: You can buy this dress in a different, retro-inspired rose print here);

EN: Ive been talking so much about cateye sunglasses lately that I thought it’s high time I practice what I preach and took mine out for a spin. (I bought the sunglasses that I’m wearing here last year from Asos and they’re out of stock, but here you can find a list of very nice options that are currently available).

I was inspired to wear them by the lovely weather we had on Monday (which was also a holiday here in Romania, yey!) and by the Motel dress, which, I like to think, has a little bit of a ’50s air to it, due to the sweetheart neckline with buttons and the wide shoulder straps. (I realize of course that it’s MUCH, much shorter than any dress in that period; in fact I think it’s one of the shortest dresses that I own, but at least, due to its tulip shape, I don’t risk Marilyn Monroe moments when I’m wearing it :D).

Because I have again mentioned the ’50, I’m taking this opportunity to confess that I have an obsession with the ’20s (I can’t wait for The Great Gatsby movie to be finally released, so that I can find the perfect flapper dress!) and the ’50s and ’60s, so I intend to take inspiration from these periods for many more posts to come. (And since I’m talking fashion likes, here’s also a dislike: you’ll never see me wear tights as pants – or probably pants for that matter :D -, so at least you know what to expect. You’ve been warned :D).
