Sunsets & Dresses (in Sorrento)

Rochie Asos cu spatele gol (am primit-o de Craciun de la…mine); o puteti inca gasi aici, dar mai sunt doar masuri mari;
Asos Textured Cut Out Dress (a Christmas gift from…me); you can still find it here, but only in large sizes.

Sandale Nine West
Nine West wedge sandals

Acesta era look-ul oficial, cu sandale cu talpa ortopedica inalta.
Adevarul mai putin glamour este mai jos:

So this was the official look, with me wearing high wedge sandals.
You can see the less glamorous truth below:

Apoi spleashk!).

Rezultatul il puteti vedea mai jos:

On the way back to the hotel, the sandals were replaced by flip flops.
Comfortable, yes, but not free of peril: one night, after the switch between sandals and flip flops had been performed and I was consequently feeling light and free as a bird, I tripped over a curb and fell on my hands and knees (I’m still surprised it wasn’t on my face). (P.S. I don’t know if you’ve had “accidents” like this lately; I tend to have them quite frequently because I’m not clumsy at all, ahem, so I can tell you that when you fall from your grown-up height, you still have time to think; in my case, the thoughts were, in chronological order: “Oh, so I’m gonna fall after all” and “God, I hope I won’t ruin my dress and pedicure”. Then splat!).

This is the result:

Well, at least I didn’t have to buy any souvenirs from Sorrento. Looks like I’ll be carrying a precious memento on my left knee for the rest of my life (and damn, it was my good leg – the thinner one :D!).

Dar sa revenim la lucruri mai atragatoare:
And now let’s go back to more attractive things:

Rochie din denim Asos (o gasiti aici) – poate v-o amintiti din postul despre lucruri din denim;
Asos Denim Dress with Chevron Panel (you can find it here) – maybe you’ll remember it from this post; well now it’s mine, all mine, muahaha!

Sempre Sorrento

Our favourite beach in Sorrento, which can be reached by foot or elevator:
The Vesuvius: I hope you like it, because you’re gonna be seeing A LOT more of it :D:

In centrul istoric din Sorrento te asteapta o priveliste uluitoare: o vale adanca (ravena) – Vallone dei Mulini/ Valea morilor -, creata de o puternica eruptie vulcanica, in care se vad ruinele unei mori care a functionat pana in a doua parte a secolului 19.

In the historical center of Sorrento, a breathtaking view amazes the unsuspecting tourist: a deep valley (ravine) – Vallone dei Mulini/ Valley of the Mills – created by a powerful volcanic eruption; on the bottom of the valley you can still see the ruins of a mill that was abandoned during the latter part of the 19th century.

Lemon tree on the terrace of the restaurant at our charming hotel, Villa Margherita, in Sant’Agnello:

Even though I spent more time on the balcony than would have been desirable (due to a spell of nasty weather during the first two days of our stay), the view was not too shabby (yes, you’ve guessed correctly, it’s our formerly grumpy friend, the Vesuvius :D!):

As soon as I get my hands on 15-20 mil. euros, I’m definitely buying this cosy little cottage!

The are more holiday pics to come: those from gorgeous Positano and a scrawny little post with all of the 2 “going out” dresses (out of the 12 or 13 that I dragged along…) that photographed somewhat decently (to put it kindly). And, of course, more Vesuvius pics (you know you want them!) – but from new and exciting angles :D.

So, to be continued…
